Just some resources that I use often and/or find interesting:

If you're a Windows user, you may not be aware, but downloading BIND, which also includes DIG, can easily run on a Windows machine. I use it to replace the crappy 'nslookup' utility that's included with Windows. Just add the dig application to a folder of your choice, and set an environmental variable in Windows so you can access it with ease.

Network management is often overlooked, but during my time as an engineer tasked with managing an 'ISP-like' network, I became intimately knowledgeable with many network management applications. One of my favorites is SNMPc. Funnily enough the application has been around for a very long time, yet is not very well known. In fact was the very first Windows-based SNMP manager back in 1987 when it was first released. What I like about it most is it can be used like a live Visio diagram, but even more useful is it's MIB database and compiler so you can add/remove support for any SNMP manageable device as you please (and any OID). Want to compile a Cisco OSPF MIB, and in real-time monitor a router's LSA retransmission counter for a specific interface every 1 second? You can do that.

Certainly not as easy as cracking type-7 hashes, but it is possible to crack them with enough time and GPU power (for the tougher hashes). Shorter passwords (length less than 6) can be cracked fairly quickly with a GPU capable of several hundred million hash/second rate.
